Important Registration Dates for MNPS' Youngest Learners

Updated March 18: The Pre-K application deadline for the 2020-2021 school has been extended beyond the current March 31 deadline. The new deadline has been extended to two weeks after the date MNPS schools reopen. Schools currently are closed at least through April 3.

Also, you now also can apply for a Student ID online.

Incoming kindergarten students

Incoming kindergarten families can use the School Choice process if they plan to attend an out of zone school, and will need to submit a School Choice application 体育投注by February 14.

However, all families (including those going through the School Choice application process and current MNPS Pre-K students) will still need to officially register their child for kindergarten on, or after, February 10.

  • In order to apply for MNPS kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year, a child must be 5-years-old on, or before, August 15, 2020.

  • If another language is spoken at home, please call the Office of English Learners to make an appointment to register your child for kindergarten, (615) 259-8608.

Incoming Pre-K Students

体育投注Incoming Pre-K families do not go through the district-wide school choice process, but Pre-K seats are assigned by lottery, as well.

Families can apply for Pre-K beginning on March 2. We recommend families apply March 2 to 31 (deadline: 3:30 p.m.) to be included in the initial selection process.

体育投注Our Pre-K curriculum is focused on the constructivist approach, which provides diverse learning environments where activities are driven by the students, and teachers encourage and support children to play and explore as a path to learning.
